The staging action is perform before receiving or after receiving?

In most warehouse and manufacturing processes, staging is performed after receiving.


Receiving is the process of accepting incoming goods, verifying quantities, checking for damage, and recording the items in the system. Once the materials have been received and verified, they are moved to a staging area. Of course for sure you can perform receiving action at staging area.


However, Staging is done after receiving because you must first verify that the goods actually arrived and match the purchase order. Receiving confirms the quantity, condition, and documentation of the items. Once validated and recorded in the system, the goods can be staged for storage, production, or shipment.


Without receiving first, unverified items could be staged incorrectly, causing inventory inaccuracies, quality issues, and traceability problems.


The staging area is a temporary holding location where items are organized and prepared for the next step, such as put-away, production, packing, or shipping.
Typical sequence:


Goods arrive.
Receiving and inspection are completed.
Items are registered in the AGen system.
Items are moved to the staging area.
Items with staging information is recorded in the AGen system.
Items proceed to storage or the next operation.
